7.6 mill. What is the innovation and the need behind the innovation?:
Fertility is determined during fetal development. We will establish a platform linking adverse fetal exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals with semen quality and reproductive health in young men.;
What is the most important competing solution?:
No other cohorts exist with repetitive clinical, hormonal and chemical data of mothers and their sons from birth to adulthood;
Who will ultimately receive the value created?:
Infertility is detrimental for society and the individual. Identification of preventable adverse exposures will benefit both.;
What will the applied investment from Innovation Fund Denmark mainly be used for?:
Building a platform with data on male reproduction, prenatal exposures to EDCs and a biobank, motivating regulatory action.;
How will the project results be implemented?
Through existing collaboration with regulatory bodies, information centres, media and scientific organizations.

1.1 mill. The present InnoBooster project relates to system and a method of manufacturing and preparing a more ECO friendly, natural, fresh and wet feed (> 25% wwb) for farmed animals in an aquaculture environment, e.g. Reciculated Aquaculture System (land-based RAS) and intensive aquaculture farming systems, including but not limited to fish, shrimps and crabs. Most of todays feed is dry (6-10% wwb) and as much as 8% is lost to the environment. We have named the new method/technology HydroFlead.

1.9 mill.

3.2 mill. Involvement of protein aggregation in Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease has long been documented but the mechanisms causing pathology is remain still unknown. In the proposed study, aggregate stages of alpha-synuclein and tau will be investigated using proteomics to identify interacting proteins involved in their clearance. Importantly, a great part of the project will be centered on validations in models to address therapeutic potential of the identified regulators

2.5 mill. The aim of the project is to conceptualize how managers at micro and macro levels work with organizational design in strategy implementation. Special focus will be given to how organizations balance the way that managers work with organizational design at different organizational levels in order to achieve a coherent organization steered towards the same overall goals and objectives, and enough maneuverability for middle and lower-level managers to adjust the strategy to local demands.

2.1 mill. Heterogeneity in breast cancer (BC) poses a significant challenge to cancer detection and medicine and an array of subtype sensitive biomarkers could boost the diagnosis. We will here deliver an integrative bioinformatic automatized pipeline to analyse at multiple biological levels different for accurate molecular profiling of BC diversity exploiting the recently discovered 'liquid biopsies' as a source of biomakers that will be ultimately delivered in the blood stream.

2.0 mill. Variability in changes not just on a coarse scale of an anatomical structure but also its sub-regions is very important. Therefore, precise methods to robustly estimate, equally well, the volume and relative change in sub-regions of an anatomical region through medical images are still desired. This project will focus on building precise registration-based tools such as template or atrophy estimation to obtain better insights into diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Lewy bodies and Lymphoma.

24.7 mill. Full chemical understanding of the shea kernel will facilitate growth and value creation on one of the last rural crops: The West African (WA) shea kernel. Better understanding of the shea kernel process, from collection to final product, will secure a controlled and sustainable industrialized operation.This will reduce the loss in the supply chain from 30% to <10%, ensure an increase in the volume of shea kernels by up to 100% and opening for future production in Denmark of high-value ingredients for food and cosmetic industry.
Sheaine is a strong interdisciplinary public-private partnership between AAK DK, global leaders in shea processing and University of Copenhagen.

8.3 mill. In this research programme we will develop and validate state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence based models for Breast Cancer (BC) routine histopathology classification and for improved patient stratification in respect to prognosis and treatment response. Through both retrospective and prospective validation of the developed models, we will establish evidence towards future clinical translation. Our studies are
based on large-scale population samples (>35,000 whole slide images), ensuring unbiased data
and models. Novel methodologies for stain-free and multi-stain analysis will also be developed,
which has the potential to contribute to improved models and advancing the field of digital pathology. The project aims to improve the quality of BC histopathology assessments by reducing
errors and inter-assessor variability, enhancing patient stratification and reducing over- and
under-treatment of patients, while also contributing toward more efficient/reliable routine pathology.

2.5 mill. Evaxion develops vaccines against bacterial pathogens by discovering protective proteins using an in-house AI platform called EDEN. These proteins are cumbersome to design and develop for clinical testing, with significant preclinical development costs. We aim to greatly accelerate this process by generating improved structural models of the identified proteins using novel methodologies within deep learning and probabilistic programming, thus allowing the generation of clinically ready designs.
