New Impact Framework for the Four Green Missions

Innovation Fund Denmark is launching an Impact Framework to monitor progress on the green missions. The framework aims to support the mission partnerships in using continuous learning to adapt their strategies, document their progress, and clarify the missions' contributions to the green transition.

- The transition is not linear and thus, it is necessary to track progress of the missions in other ways than measuring greenhouse gas reductions, which is the ultimate goal. Measuring the progress of the work in the partnerships requires a systematic approach, which can clarify the contribution of the mission partnerships to the green transition, says Anders Eldrup, Chairperson of the Board of Innovation Fund Denmark.

Therefore, Innovation Fund Denmark has developed a planning tool that can be used to demonstrate the progress of the mission partnerships.

With the help of this Impact Framework, mission partnerships can document their progression based on how they gather new knowledge and learning and apply this learning in strategic decisions to drive the missions forward.

- This approach provides the mission partnerships with the best way to navigate a changing world with the uncertainty of what may become possible, and thereby increase the likelihood of achieving Denmark’s ambitious climate goals, adds Anders Eldrup.

The Impact Framework for Mission-Oriented Innovation will be launched at Innovation Fund Denmark’s Mission Conference on Monday, November 25, 2024. At the conference, the green mission partnerships will meet with the Fund’s Mission International Advisory Board to discuss how to best create and document impact.

Facts

The development of the Impact Framework for mission-oriented innovation is based on the Innovation Fund's four green missions and has been created with input from the Mission International Advisory Board’s recommendations, collaboration with the mission partnerships, and support from Pluss Leadership. Each mission works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within its specific area towards 2030 and 2050.
