Objectives of DUT Partnership
The DUT Partnership call is divided into three main objectives, each with three topics:
- Positive Energy Districts Transition Pathway (PED)
PED Topic 1: Energy communities – energy transition driven by civil society
PED Topic 2: Energy flexibility strategies – technological, legal, societal challenges
PED Topic 3: Energy efficiency in existing urban structures - 15-minutes City Transition Pathway (15mC)
15mC Topic 1: Strengthen the mix of urban functions and series
15mC Topic 2: Foster sustainable options for personal mobility and logistics in urban outskirts (and beyond)
15MC Topic 3: (Re)imagine urban public spaces and streets for vibrant, sustainable neighbourhoods - Circular Urban Economies Transition Pathway (CUE)
CUE Topic 1: Urban resource sharing and circularity
CUE Topic 2: Nature-based solutions (NBC)
CUE Topic 3: Urban food systems

After checking the eligibility criteria (see UDG guidelines), these criteria will be evaluated:
Contribution to urban transitions; relevance and link to DUT and DUT’s Transition Pathways
Potential to inspire / translate the applicants’ proposal to other urban contexts: Potential to synthesise the initiatives’ knowledge / experience and promote it on European scale
Ambition of the submission to build capacities and networks to connect to urban research and innovation and European policy
Starting on May 2, 2023, the application for the Urban Doers grant is possible.
Deadline to apply for the grant via the registration form on our website
The DUT team has checked all applications for their eligibility as mentioned in chapter 4.1
Deadline jury evaluation: Six external experts have evaluated the proposals according to the evaluation matrix mentioned in chapter 4.3
The final decision on who will be granted is communicated to the applicants
The chosen initiatives/organisations sign a contract according to the specimen R&I Service Contract of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)
The running time of 12 months for the Urban Doers Grant for all granted projects starts.
An obligatory kick-off meeting with all Urban Doers takes place (on site).
During the running time of the grant, Urban Doers have the possibility to attend a minimum of 3 on-site events (including kick-off and closure) as well as additional online events.
All granted Urban Doers have developed a concept paper
