Now open: Call for roadmaps on mission-driven green partnerships
March 19. 2021
Innovation Fund Denmark invites stakeholders within the Danish research and innovation system to propose roadmaps for mission-driven green research and innovation partnerships. The deadline is May 12th
Roadmaps are the first step in the process of investing in green research and innovation partnerships within the four politically selected green missions:
Capture and storage or use of CO2
Green fuels for transport and industry (Power-to-X, etc.)
Climate- and environment-friendly agriculture and food production
Circular economy with a focus on plastics and textiles
Selected roadmaps will form the basis for a call for mission-driven green research and innovation partnerships, which will be open for applications in August. The roadmaps should describe challenges and gaps within the specific mission, strongholds, and potential and sketch key activities and relevant workstream themes for future green partnerships.
Open to all relevant stakeholders
The mission-driven green research and innovation partnerships move beyond existing programs offered by Innovation Fund Denmark by putting individual innovation efforts usually supported by the fund into a broader context. Partnerships must have a clear vision for change in 2030 and 2050 and build on focused roadmaps based on broad coordination and commitment across the entire value chain.
Innovation Fund Denmark encourages all relevant stakeholders across the Danish research and innovation system to come together to contribute their expertise and propose a realistic and robust path towards the development of cutting-edge solutions within the four mission - ranging from strategic research to commercialization, with a focus on short-, mid- and long term impact.
Relevant proposers of roadmaps could be research institutions, Research and Technology Organizations (GTS institutes), companies (start-ups, SMEs, large companies), investors, municipalities, cluster organizations, etc.
The process of selecting mission-driven green partnerships
Denmark is committed to act on and reduce climate change and has set ambitious goals in relation to climate and the environment. These goals must be reached within a very short time frame.
To fulfill these goals the Danish government, has set aside DKK 700 million in 2021 to cover investments in mission-driven green research and innovation partnerships within the four areas mentioned above.
Timeline and next steps
The deadline for roadmap proposals is May 12th. Proposers will receive tentative feedback on their proposed roadmaps in late June, and the final decision will be announced at the beginning of August at the latest. The IFD board of directors makes the final decision on the roadmap proposals based on input from national and / or international peers.
