28,1 mio. Methane emission from cattle is the single largest source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agriculture and therefore represents an area in which meaningful reductions can be achieved. This project aims to reduce these emissions on a simple, scalable, and global level through addition of unharmful methane-consuming bacteria to cattle feed. The bacteria will act as an additive methane reduction agent while also producing valuable biomass with high protein content, reducing the energy lost through enteric fermentation significantly.
The potential reduction of 50% GHG emissions on a per cow basis is expected to reduce GHG emissions by 360 mil kg CO2-eq, save 270 mil DKK in carbon fees for the farmers, and generate revenues of 15 mil DKK for GreenCow in 2030 and 14 billion DKK per year for Danish companies by 2040. On a global scale, the reductions in GHG emissions are expected to be 450 mil tonnes CO2-eq per year by 2050.
Development of the feed additive, MetCap®, will take place within two areas: 1) Identification, development, and production of bacteria and necessary nutrients (WP1, WP2), and 2) validation of bacteria-induced methane reduction (WP3, WP4). Implementation will be achieved through on-going dialogue with feed producers (such as DanishAgro, who have shown interest in the project) as well as pilot-scale demonstration (TRL 6) within the project. Early involvement of regulatory authorities (WP5) will ensure that time to market is as short as possible.

MEWI®’s løsning kombinerer funktionelt design med absorberende og behagelige materialer og giver et mere brugervenligt og komfortabelt alternativ.
Markedet for efterfødselspleje er relevant for alle fødende, og der er en stigende interesse for løsninger, der både fungerer bedre i hverdagen og kan genbruges. På sigt kan MEWI®’s designprincipper anvendes i udviklingen af beslægtede produkter, såsom menstruations- og inkontinenstrusser samt potte-træningstrusser til børn.
Innovationsfondens investering gør det muligt at færdigudvikle efterfødselstrusserne, gennemføre brugerundersøgelser og etablere grundlaget for produktion og dokumentation. På længere sigt arbejder MEWI® mod at skabe flere genanvendelige produkter, der kan forbedre komfort og tryghed for brugerne og samtidig løfte standarden inden for intimhygiejne.

430.000 Michael Gackstatter's project (working title: "Covered") empowers financial advisors and insurance agents to become better businesses. Covered leverages the latest technology and distinguishes itself in a market filled with legacy providers.
Covered is dedicated to insurance agents and brokers as unsung heroes, providing peace of mind to people in areas where state social security systems leave relevant gaps. Covered aims to impact society in several ways: Insurance often has a bad reputation as consultation does not meet expectations in rare cases. Covered helps organizations coach agents to achieve better outcomes for customers and businesses. Furthermore, many insurance agents will retire in the coming years, leaving many customers underserved. Covered acts as an AI co-pilot and assists agents and brokers in serving customers more efficiently. Thirdly, by promoting innovation in the insurance sector, Covered aims to make the industry more attractive to new graduates.
The investment and mentoring from the Innovation Fund are crucial for product development, go-to-market strategy, and iterating towards product-market fit.
In the next decade, Covered aims to become the most loved tool of financial advisors and sustainably grow into a European leader in vertical SaaS.
