Since the first agricultural revolution 12.000 years ago, humans have used animals to convert plants into meat. However, only a small fraction of the feed they consume ends up as food, making animals very inefficient at producing protein for consumption. This inefficiency is a leading contributor to the ecological meltdown we are now facing. At Meat Tomorrow, we are on a mission to accelerate the transition to a sustainable food industry. To do that we are reinventing meat production by producing sustainable and ethical meat (cultivated meat) from biology's most fundamental building block: Stem cells. Various studies estimate that cultivated meat production will require 70% less water, emit 80% fewer greenhouse gasses, occupy 90% less land and eliminate disease outputs. The InnoFounder program will allow us to build on our technological foundation and enable upscaling of our production, pushing us closer to our goal of becoming a leading producer of truly sustainable meats.
