Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD), and Department of Science and Technology (DST), & Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, announces joint call for submission of project proposal in the areas of “Bioresources & Secondary Agriculture” and “Cyber Physical Systems”.
Prioritised research and innovation areas:
Department of Biotechnology (DBT) Specific Area: "Bioresources & Secondary Agriculture"
The current focus is on solutions that strengthen the bioresource sector by securing resource efficient, environment and climate friendly production of competitive and healthy food and other biological products. There is additional focus on secondary agriculture, which provides value addition to agricultural products, creates facilities for primary processing and agricultural stress management and thus endows better return from the harvest of agro commodities. This also strengthens the new opportunities and employment in the rural sector, to grow the rural economy, which is entirely dependent on agriculture.
The target of this Indo - Denmark collaboration is to promote circular economy by utilization of side streams to enhance value creation through research and innovation for the development of new technologies, solutions, services and business models.
Department of Science & Technology (DST) Specific Area: "Cyber Physical Systems":
Cyber physical systems (CPS), which are generally concerned with software and data dedicated to complex physical systems, having the purpose of creating smarter and more user-friendly solutions for the involved societies. Examples for the sub-topics include:

- Artificial intelligence and cognitive computing
- Cloud technologies
- Network security
- Smart ICT solutions for urban or rural areas
The successful projects will be jointly funded by India and Denmark. For Danish counterpart, funding will be disbursed by IFD, Denmark and similarly for Indian counterpart, either by DST or DBT depending on the subject matter. 4-6 projects may be funded for a maximum duration of three years.
The IFD budget for this call is approx. € 2 million (15 million DKK) and depending on the quality of applications the funds will be equally distributed between DBT for “Bioresources & Secondary Agriculture” and DST for “Cyber Physical Systems”. Significant co-financing and the participation of relevant public partners and/or private enterprises other than the main applicants is expected.
