The Grand Solutions committee for Life Science, Health and Welfare Technology

The innovation fund's board has set up four Grand Solutions committees, each with its own thematic focus, including the Grand Solutions committee for life-science, health and welfare technology, which consists of 12 members including a chairperson.

The committee is composed of six impact experts who have the skills to assess the commercial and strategic potential of Grand Solutions' applications for Denmark and six international established researchers who have the skills to assess the quality of the applications' research and innovation at an international level.

All members possess solid and extensive knowledge and recent experience in one or more specific professional areas that relate to the committee's theme, including the following domains:

• Stem cell research and technology
• Development of medicines
• Clinical outcome and economic impact of whole genome sequencing
• Development of personalized medicine
• Development of medical equipment
• Application of artificial intelligence within Life Science and welfare technology
• Insight into the Danish health system, including the development, testing and application of welfare technology within, among other things, the elderly, social and health areas
• Digital prevention and treatment services for people with mental disorders
• Social science and/or humanistic approaches, e.g. with a view to qualifying needs analyses, implementation processes and contextualisation of health and illness behaviour.

The subject areas reflect the political priorities under which Innovation Fund Denmark distributes funds, and which are decided annually in connection with the adoption of the annual Finance Act.

The overall committee has also been set up with a focus on ensuring diversity in both societal and professional terms.
