7.3 mill. With the TLA_FINDER project, we will establish a platform for discovery and characterization of monoclonal TCR-like antibodies (TCR-LAs), to enable an innovative off-the-shelf cancer immunotherapy. TCR-LAs can target a large repertoire of intracellular antigens that are shared amongst patients within different cancer types, in solid cancers that are not adequately addressed with current immunotherapy. The establishment of the TCR-LA characterisation platform will thus be a cornerstone in improving treatment of hard-to-treat cancers. This ambitious goal will be accomplished by a collaboration between a) epitope-HLA-prediction experts at Immunitrack, b) the cancer immunology researchers and clinicians at the National Center for Cancer Immunotherapy (CCIT) in Denmark, and c) the best-in-class monoclonal antibody discovery company Alloy Therapeutic in USA, that will participate in the project as a demonstrator. The TLA_FINDER collaboration will result in a discovery and characterization platform – AbScreen- that will be operating from Denmark by Immunitrack with build-to-buy research collaborations and licensing of preclinical assets to pharmaceutical partners.

23.7 mill. In the pursuit of a scalable and fault-tolerant quantum computing paradigm, TopQC2X presents a comprehensive research initiative that bridges the realms of theory, physical implementation, and practical applications. Focusing on topological quantum computation (TQC), the project leverages the unique strengths of the Centre of Quantum Mathematics (QM) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and the Quantum Physics and Information Technology (QPIT) group at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
QM will develop and apply new topological tools for quantum computation including 1) surface codes tailored for the photonic platform via GKP states and 2) topological quantum field theories (TQFTs) based on the Andersen-Kashaev TQFT. The physical implementation, led by QPIT at DTU, focuses on realizing such schemes on photonic platforms for enhanced error correction in the setting of continuous variable quantum computation (CVQC).
An integral component of TopQC2X is the development of quantum algorithms and software tailored to TQC, enabling the utilization of TQFT language for algorithm design. Further, TopQC2X will grow applications across green energy, financial services, climate modeling, and signal processing/compressed sensing with industry and research leaders such as Ørsted, Jyske Bank, DMI and AAU. Quantum algorithms are developed to address industry-specific challenges, offering solutions that exploit the power of TQC across different industry sectors.

11.8 mill. Schizophrenia is among others characterized by hypofrontality. Hypofrontality is the reduced utilization of glucose and decreased blood flow in the prefrontal cortex and appears to be linked to the debilitating cognitive deficits and negative symptoms that are reported in patients with schizophrenia. The currently available antipsychotics do not reduce hypofrontality, they may actually worsen it, which is likely the reason that they are ineffective in ameliorating the cognitive deficits and negative symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. Antagonists of NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors, such as PCP, ketamine and MK-801 are known to induce hypofrontality. In one of Gabather's preclinical studies, GT-002 proved able to counteract effects of MK-801. This suggests that, unlike antipsychotics, GT-002 might be able to reduce hypofrontality, and thus also may ameliorate cognitive deficits and negative symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. Validating this observation will be a major breakthrough in the treatment of schizophrenia. The current project has been developed to take the first necessary step in this direction, by investigating the effects of two doses of GT-002 in patients with schizophrenia and healthy controls.

21.1 mill. Cybersecurity attacks pose a threat to our current day lives, increasing in frequency and magnitude of their impact as time goes by. From financial to retail transactions, private, health, military or intelligence data… the list goes on across every sector of the global economy. This scenario only gets worse with the emerging development into quantum computing field, with public authorities in countries like Germany and UK already migrating to quantum-safe systems. This highlights the need for NEW solutions that can create true unpredictable random numbers to cope with increasing and even post-quantum cybersecurity threats.
Our consortium (DTU: Alea Quantum technologies, a spin off from DTU: Ghent University: and the Danish Metrology Institute) will use this Grand Solutions project to advance the development of a secure, low-cost and ultra-fast quantum random number generator engine (QRNGine). By project end (2027), 3 QRNGine variants reaching high TRL levels (19-inch rack and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) component - TRL8: microchip – TRL4). The 19-inch rack and OEM will be tested and validated in data centers and as part of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems, respectively, being ready for market launch 3-6 months after project end (ie mid-end 2027). On the other hand, the microchip version will be the first of its kind reaching TRL4, requiring at least 3 more years of R&D before commercialization (2030+).
