National Defence Technology Center (NFC), DI Defence and Security, Centre for the Security Industry in Denmark (CenSec) and DTU invite developers, start-ups and students with technical flair and insight into defence and security to the EU Commission's Hackathon, which is being held for the first time in Denmark, and with which Innovation Fund Denmark has entered into a partnership.

The event will take place on May 9-11, 2025 at Aalborg University's campus in Copenhagen, alongside similar hackathons in Germany, Spain, Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Lithuania.

The hackathon is an intense idea development process where interdisciplinary teams work to solve real-world challenges within defense technology.

This year's three challenges are:

  • To improve the soldier's tactical spatial perception via portable surveillance systems.

  • To provide cost-effective protective equipment for frontline defense.

  • To develop advanced medical support at the front.

The winners will receive private entrepreneurial advice from industry and tech experts as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to Ukraine to visit local developers, companies, and Ukrainian forces.
