The insulin receptor (IR) translocates to the nucleus and takes part in transcriptional condensate formation at promoter/enhancer regions controlling a large part of the transcriptional landscape. Furthermore, the number of nuclear IR-containing condensates is strongly reduced in insulin resistance, indicating that transcriptional control by IR condensates is distorted in insulin resistance.
