Vi ønsker i nærværende projekt at undersøge anvendelse og implementering af et nyt opsamlingsdevice til brug for patienter med tyndtarmsstomi. Projektet er et samarbejde mellem start-up firmaet Ampa og Rigshospitalet. Ampa har opfundet og udviklet produktet og Rigshospitalet er den forskningsmæssige samarbejdspartner. Projektet indeholder usability- og kliniske studier samt implementeringsanalyser.

760.000 Nordstar Medical udvikler en ny type nerveblok-kateter til smertebehandling efter operationer. Vores løsning løser to velkendte problemer: at eksisterende katetre ofte flytter sig, hvilket medfører ineffektiv smertelindring og at det er besværligt og tager lang tid at placere et kateter. Med vores patenterede teknologi kan det gøres 5 gange så hurtigt og kateterets placering sikres med et lille vævsanker. Det giver bedre og mere pålidelig smertebehandling uden brug af opioider.
Markedet for postoperative smertebehandling er voksende, og der er stigende behov for løsninger, der kan reducere brugen af opioider. Vores produkt har potentiale til at blive en ny standard inden for regional anæstesi og postoperativ smertebehandling, særligt i lys af den voksende opioidkrise.
Innovationsfondens investering støtter færdigudvikling af prototypen og de første kliniske tests.
På lang sigt vil Nordstar være frontløber inden for avanceret, præcis og sikker smertebehandling – og vi ser et stort internationalt potentiale for både vores kateter og den teknologi, vi udvikler i forlængelse heraf.
