5.5 MILLION DKK HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED IN 2018-2019 FOR INDUSTRIAL PHD PROJECTS WITHIN THE DEMENTIA AREA
This special call is open for both private and public organisations.
With The National Action Plan on Dementia 2025 DKK 470 million have been allocated to 23 specific initiatives. As a part of this DKK 5.5 million have been allocated to Industrial Researcher projects within the dementia area.
The DKK 5.5 million is allocated so that DKK 2.2 million is accessible for applications in 2018 and the remaining DKK 3.3 million in 2019. This corresponds to the startup of 2 projects in 2018 and 3 projects in 2019. The projects can be within research in health science, in social methods or technological capability. The research must support the academic goals of the area and be based on and contribute to the framework outlined in the National Action Plan on Dementia. This involves supporting research based knowledge of methods and initiatives regarding the five focus points of the National Action Plan on Dementia:
- Early detection and better quality of examination and in treatment
- Improved quality of care, nursing and rehabilitation
- Support and guidance for the relatives of people with dementia
- Dementia friendly communities and housing
- Increasing knowledge and professional skills
It will furthermore be emphasised that the research is consistent with the fundamental values serving as indicators for the efforts toward people with dementia and their relatives towards 2025. These values are:
- Dignity
- Safety
- Influence on your own life
- Respect for diversity and the lived life
- An individual and holistic approach in treatment, nursing and care based on the individual human being behind the disease
- Meaningful activities and good experiences in everyday life

OTHER CONDITIONS
The applications must meet all other criteria for the Industrial PhD. These criteria are stated in the Industrial PhD guidelines, which also includes a description of the structure of the project, criteria for the participants and the project, the assessment process and the criteria for the funding. If the applying company is a public organisation, the application must also meet the criteria in the guidelines for the Industrial PhD in the public sector.
Please note that the special call is accessible for Industrial PhD’s only. It is not possible to apply for an Industrial Postdoc in this call.
