New course for Industrial PhD students

Innovation Fund Denmark is holding a new course for all Industrial PhD students approved after 25 September 2017. The course is run by CBS.

The general purpose of the course is to prepare the Industrial PhD students for managing the role as industrial researcher during and after the studies.

The subgoals of the course are

  • That the Industrial PhD student acquires practical and theoretical tools for managing a research project that cuts across academic and business cultures and often does not have a clear hierarchical structure

  • That the Industrial PhD student gets tools to engage in academic and commercial environments and gets the best out of both worlds

  • That the Industrial PhD student gets tools to translate their own and other research into innovation and business value

  • That the PhD student acquires an understanding of their potential impact as an industrial researcher and the impact of the project in a business and social perspective and becomes able to act in relation to this

  • That the Industrial PhD student creates a professional and social network with other Industrial PhD students

ErhvervsPhD-kursus

The course is rated to 5 ECTS credits and is mandatory for all approved Industrial PhD students. The course consists of five modules where modules 1 and 5 are mandatory for everyone, while each student additionally chooses one of the three elective modules - module 2, 3 or 3.

Accordingly the student participates in three modules over a one-year period from the start of the Industrial PhD project.

Two of the modules take place as residential seminars, where all students from the same team are gathered regardless of the choice of modules.
