Innovation Fund's Innowomen
Innowomen is one of the initiatives created by Innovation Fund Denmark to support increased gender balance among entrepreneurs and researchers as well as the fund's applicants.
Innowomen appointed in 2025:
- Malene Krüger , architect, partner and CEO of the architectural firm TREDJE NATUR.
Malene Krüger is responsible for the company TREDJE NATUR, which solves strategies and projects with complex climate challenges at all scales, including the implementation of research and innovation according to the green transition in the construction industry. Malene Krüger has experience with and has been associated with several innovation projects; Climate Tile, Climate Filter Concrete and the Circue project, co-financed by Innovation Fund Denmark. - Marie Lommer Bagger , nurse, founder and CEO of the MedTech company Measurelet
Marie Lommer Bagger is a PhD in Nursing and the entrepreneur behind the company Measurelet, which has developed a system to improve the process and accuracy of patient fluid accounting. The solution saves nursing resources in the healthcare sector and increases patient dignity. - Desiree Della Monica Ferreira , space scientist, co-founder of the space technology company CHEXS
Dr. Desiree Della Monica Ferreira is a senior researcher with a PhD in observational X-ray astrophysics and head of the Department of Astrophysics and Atmospheric Physics at DTU Space. Dr. Ferreira is currently working on the design and characterization of X-ray telescopes for future space missions – a topic she also teaches at DTU Space. In 2019, Dr. Ferreira became a space entrepreneur and co-founded CHEXS, a company that aims to promote technology transfer from space research for the benefit of society. - Linda Mostrup Pedersen , founder of Happy42
Linda Mostrup Pedersen is one of the founders of the company Happy42, which works with consultancy and talent development within cybersecurity, among other things. She is the initiator and lead of the think tank CyberBridge Forum and one of the central actors behind, among others, CyberSkills, the Danish Cyber Championships and the Cyber National Team in collaboration with AAU, SDU, AU, ITU, CBS and DTU.

2024
- Lone Kørnøv , professor of environmental assessments and sustainable decision-making processes at Aalborg University. Director of her own company, Collabora ApS, which advises on, among other things, strategy development and environmental assessments. As well as the main person responsible for the research and innovation project, DREAMS.
- Malene Hegenberger , a trained nurse and midwife who invented and developed the Hegenberger Retractor, an instrument to assist in suturing women who have ruptured during childbirth. Director of Global Training and Innovation at the now-sold Hegenberger Medical.
- Maria Lund Paulsen , PhD in microbiology and freelance researcher. Founder of the company LakeAid, which has developed an oxygenation technology based on nanobubbles for chemical-free restoration of aquatic environments. Marine biologist at the Danish Environmental Protection Agency. Has been affiliated with the Innofounder program.
- Aasa Feragen-Hauberg , professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at DTU and researcher in artificial intelligence – including fairness and bias in AI solutions. Leads the research project EXPLAIN-ME – which develops 'explainable artificial intelligence' for use in hospital training clinics.
2023
- Karin Lykke-Hartmann , professor at Aarhus University and CEO of the company Notify Therapeutics, which is researching a new treatment for women who struggle to conceive. Karin has received two Innoexplorer grants from Innovation Fund Denmark
- Jessica Aschemann-Witzel , professor and Director at the MAPP Center at Aarhus University. Jessica leads a current research project on the transition to a more plant-based diet, less food waste and greener food production, which is co-funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark's Grand Solutions program.
- Sarah Hammershøy , mechanical engineer and co-founder and CEO of the company MicroChange, which develops filtration systems that can purify seawater of microplastics and surface water of nutrients and heavy metals. Sarah has been involved in the Innovation Fund Denmark's entrepreneurial program Innofounder
- Sofie Lindskov Hansen , quantum specialist at the company Kvantify with a PhD in experimental quantum photonics from the Niels Bohr Institute and a medical physics degree from Rigshospitalet. Sofie is passionate about quantum technology with a focus on applications within healthcare.
2022
- Natalie Schluter , Associate Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen and Machine Learning Researcher at Apple
- Solveig Berg Søndergaard , CEO and founder of the circular design company, Sheworks Ateliér, which upcycles textile scraps into design products - sewn by talented refugee and immigrant women
- Anne Lyck Smitshuysen , researcher in electrolysis technology and partner and industrial PhD in the Power-to-X startup company DynElectro in collaboration with DTU and with support from Innovation Fund Denmark
- Cathrine K. Reimann , Co-founder at Landfolk.com – a digital marketplace for handpicked holiday homes. Is affiliated with the Innovation Fund Denmark's Innofounder program.
2021
- Fatima AlZahra'a Alatraktchi , founder and CEO of PreDiagnose - a medical company that has developed an ultra-sensitive nanosensor that can recognize the signals that bacteria send out when they are about to establish an infection. In 2018, Fatima was named Ph.D of the Year at DTU and in 2019 she was named to Forbes 30under30. Today she is affiliated with RUC as an Assistant Professor. She was affiliated with the foundation's Innobooster program.
- Nima Tisdall , founder and CEO of Blue Lobster, which has developed an app to ensure sustainable fishing in Denmark. She is affiliated with the foundation's Innofounder graduate program.
- Hanne Jarmer , Founder and CEO of Go Dogo, who has developed a high-tech home training program for dogs so they can be mentally challenged while they are home alone. She is affiliated with the foundation's Innobooster program.
2020
- Pia Skammelsen , founder and CEO of Oh So Quiet – a nature tourism concept where guests hike from cottage to cottage. She is affiliated with the foundation's entrepreneurial program Innofounder Experienced.
- Lara Anne Blasberg , Industrial Postdoc at VELUX in collaboration with Copenhagen Business School with support from Innovation Fund Denmark and Realdania's joint Industrial Researcher call 'Smart Cities and Smart Buildings'. Lara is currently employed as Sustainability Specialist at IKEA.
- Vigga Svensson , co-founder of Continued Fashion – a digital sustainability solution for the fashion industry. Today, Vigga works as a business developer at IVDK. She is affiliated with the foundation's Innobooster program.
- Sascha Louring , R&D Senior Consultant at the Danish Technological Institute. In 2021, she landed a job as Materials Specialist for the company Panzerglass. She is affiliated with both the foundation's international cooperation program and the Grand Solutions program.
2019
- Sara Shafiee is a postdoc at DTU Mechanical Engineering. Today, Sara is Co-founder and CEO of the company DivERS. She was one of the recipients of the Innovation Fund Denmark's Industrial Researcher Prizes 2018.
- Camilla Ley Valentin is Co-founder and board member of the technology company Queue-it and was named Female Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012. Today, Camilla is a professional board member and angel investor. She has been connected to the Innobooster program through Queue-it.
- Tine Jess is a professor, MD, and head of gastro-epidemiological research at the Statens Serum Institut. She has applied under the Grand Solution program.
- Mette Frimodt-Møller is a senior consultant at the University of Copenhagen's SCIENCE Faculty Secretariat. She is affiliated with the Grand Solution program and the INSEAD course in innovation management.
- Maria Flyvbjerg Bo is Co-founder and CXO of spenderlog – a young frontrunner in Danish fintech. Maria currently serves as Senior Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank, Nordics. She was involved in the Innobooster program.
- Signe Schack Noesgaard is Co-founder & CEO of Adapto Technologies. She has been involved in the Innofounder and Innobooster programs.
- Janine Erler is a professor at the University of Copenhagen's Biotech Research & Innovation Centre. She is connected to the Grand Solution program.
- Ingeborg Rosenvinge is Head of Sustainability, where she works with R&D 3D Print for the company Thürmer Tools, among other things. She is affiliated with the foundation's international collaboration program as well as the leadership course 'Making Innovation Happen' with INSEAD.
In December 2018, the first meeting of a so-called “gender sounding board” under the title Innowomen was held. Eight entrepreneurs and researchers associated with the Fund were appointed to provide input to the Fund’s diversity policy and be visible role models for potential applicants to the Fund’s programs. Each year since, additional members have been added.
The innovative women represent all of the foundation's programs as a group, with distinct talent and willpower in their fields, which is manifested in their professional work.
The hope is that the Innowomen ambassadors and their professional experiences can inspire more talented women to pursue the entrepreneurial or research path - as well as apply for and ultimately receive the fund's investments.
The goal of strengthening gender diversity was initiated in 2018 in a broader societal perspective. The foundation prepared an in-depth report on the gender balance in the Danish labor market in partnership with McKinsey & Company. This resulted in a large Innotalk, which resonated across the country. Read more here
In line with the conclusions and recommendations of the aforementioned analysis, the Fund has launched a coherent strategy to contribute to an increased gender balance among program applicants. Innowomen is thus one of several initiatives. Read more here
